Announcement: SimpleCart v2.0 will be there just before MODXpo 2013!

Just to inform you guys.. Trying hard to release my new Major SimpleCart version just before @MODXpo 2013 in Cologne. The new version will be totally compatible with the current version and much more improved, rewrited and a couple of new (most wished) features.. Already having a changelog length of 75+ lines for v2.0.

Sneak preview (just to give you an idea about the new version);

Some highlights;
- Total rewrite of SimpleCarts' core code
- Added custom resources types and provide a migration to it!
- Rewrite of PayPal gateway
- Order views for loggedin frontend users
- Custom order fields supported
- Added RecentlyViewed products feature
- And much more!

After release v2.0 I will start working on v2.1 where other features will be added like different TAX stuff, multi currency support etc.
Follow @MODXSimpleCart to get latest updates.
And see http://www.modxsimplecart.com/ too

ps. I also will be @ MODXpo for both days, so pull my jacket if you have questions! [ed. note: bertoost last edited this post 13 years ago.]

Congratulation. Looks good.

Sounds amazing!

Will this be a paid upgrade or free for exsisting SimpleCart 1.x users?

Have the shipping and delivery features been improved in this version? Can you share any details about what's changed in this area?

Looking forward to seeing 2.0!

Yes all updates are free for current v1.x users.
I do not have any plans yet to charge any updates.

For delivery and payments are some improvements, bugfixes most likely. I also have some updates in mind against rules for delivery pricing etc. but not yet sure if I am able to built that all in for v2.0, but maybe for v2.1 or something. It's definitely on my list.
But for now the UI change is along with caching improvements and that eats much time but it will be awesome!

Very excited about this! And its come at just the right time too for a particular client too.

Drop me a private message if you need any beta testers this month, I'd be happy to help.

Wow, nice work! And just in time for a client of mine.

Great to hear that! I am working hard to get it done in time

Nice work,

I've just quoted for a big job using this and Foxycart - so a ditto if you need beta testers.

Look forward to meeting you at the xpo!

Same for me Graeme! Always good to know people behind names ;-)
