    Hey Everyone,

Happy New Year! I need to uninstall MODx and I was wondering if there’s a preferred method - or if it’s as easy as deleting the database and removing the files from the server. I was building a site with MODx (that was later going to be transferred) on a dummy domain and now that the site is live, I can remove MODx from the dummy domain.

    Thanks!

When I removed modx from a dummy site, I just deleted the files, and removed the modx tables from the database. You could just remove the whole database if modx was the only application using it.

You may also have to alter your .htaccess file depending on your set up.

Deleting the files and the DB will do it.

If there’s a php.ini that was put there by your host, you should probably undo any changes you made and leave it there.
