Very slow backend in 2.2.9

Hello,

I'm new to Revo. I've just installed it on my local computer. Revo is particulary slow and specialy the backend. I've done a quick search to find requirements and good practices. I've tried to desactivate news feeds but that's not better. Any help or advices would be greatly apprecied. Is there any articles that sum up hardware requirements and optimization ?

It's a bit hard to say why it's very slow on your local computer. How do you have your local server set up? What's your computer specs? Do you get any errors in the MODX or PHP error logs? Server configuration? It's hard to know what to look for without a bit more detail.

Apache can be fairly slow at handling HTTP requests under XAMPP, if that's what you're using. The MODX Manager involves a lot of Ajax requests, so any slowness in the server will be multiplied many times over.

More details about my configuration :
My computer is a Core I5-3470 CPU @ 3.20 Ghz with 8 Go Ram and SSD drive / Windows 7 64 bits
The web server is on a Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS (64 bits) running on Oracle VM Virtual Box with 4 Go Ram dedicated.
On that VM :
Apache/2.2.22
Mysql 5.5.29
Php 5.3.10-1 but not running as FastCGI

I will try to update php version and install fastcgi.
