We hadn't touched this TV in a long time, but all of it's content randomly disappeared in the backend today. It looks like the TV has no items in it, but it was still showing up on the front end until I tried to do things like clear cache, reinstall MIGX, etc., and then it disappeared on the front end as well.

I re-entered everything thinking it was just a fluke, but of course, it all disappeared again.

What could have gone wrong? How do I fix it?

Very difficult to say what happens here, without seeing the whole situation.

Basically it boils down to my content is showing up and functioning perfectly fine in the front end (I don't think I explained that well originally, sorry), but there are no items listed in the migx tv in the backend, they disappear there. Its just 1 tv as well. We have other migx tvs that aren't having issues.

I understand it may be a long shot to troubleshoot, but is there any particular information I can give that would help?

I'll copy+paste what the structure looks like, in case that helps at all. There were 10 entries. I've even made a new resource and a new migx tv with the same structure to test with. When I enter my information, everything appears to work fine at first. Ie., when I save, refresh the page, clear the cache and whatnot it's all fine. It's once all 10 items are there that the list disappears. I don't know if it disappears at #10, I didnt check after each one. Perhaps I should, maybe i'll notice something off. Could there possibly be too much content? Is there a limit to how much data the backend list can render or something?

There isn't THAT much content, imo, but now that I think of it, it really may be the most data-filled migx I've done so far in any site.

I don't think this is related to the number of items in a migx grid.

I had a similar situation a few weeks ago. In my case this behaviour was caused by some cut and paste word document containing non-unicode characters that broke the JSON string.

Be careful. The only reason why you still see something on the front end side may be the fact that your document is still cached. If its important for you that the content is shown on your page, then you should copy the MIGX part into a chunk and serve that one instead of getImageList until you have solved your problem. Otherwise your content is lost until you have found a solution for your problem.

            Good luck,

How do I generate/find the whole json string of my content?

And pepebe, thank you. Checking the content for issues like that is now on my to-do list, provided I don't find the answer before I get to it.

Put the tag of your MIGX-TV to your template/resource's-content:

                [[*yourMIGXtv]]

or change the input-type of your MIGX-TV to textarea.

or directly from db (modx_site_tmplvar_contentvalues) by phpMyAdmin

Well, I don't understand why....but I added my original tv back to the template to get the json stuff (I had completely disabled it at one point to test with a new tv), and the backend has magically started working again. I have tried everything I could think of to attempt to break it, but it's still there. So, I guess it's working now.

So weird....I have a feeling as soon as I post this, it's going to break and i'm going to regret writing this. But we'll see.

By the way, thank you Bruno17 for helping!
