    Hallo all,

I am very new at this so....have patience.

I already made some mistakes, that led to asking my provider to use a back-up to solve the problem, but as it is in life another problem occurs.

Now the content of the documents in the MODX manager dont display the back-up, but the changes I made.

Is there a way to synchronize the site and MODX manager ?

If there is any more information needed, I'll gladly supply it.

First, try logging out, deleting all files in the core/cache directory, clearing you browser cache and cookies, and logging back in.

If that doesn't undo your changes, it sounds like your provider restored a backup of the files, but not the database. You might see if they can restore the DB as well. If they can, perform the steps above after the restore.

If not, your best option may be to undo the mistakes you made. Can you describe them?

        Hi Bob,

Firstly thanks for taking the time and answering.

It is not clear to me which core file you mean, if I look into the following location on the server (/public/sites/www.mysite.nl/core)there are many folders and 1 ht.access file, do you mean deleting the the access file?

To describe what I did is very simple (and dumb...) I deleted the ht.access file in the manager folder (/public/sites/www.mysite.nl/manager)this resulted in my site (a very simple one) displaying only the home page and the rest returned a HTTP 404 error.

I will confirm with my provider weather they have only restored the files and not the DB.

Itay, the ht.access file does nothing until you rename it to .htaccess.

Try that. Back it up first, then rename it to .htaccess -- There's a good chance that everything will work again.

About deleting files -- delete all files in the core/cache/ folder. In other words, there is a cache folder under the core folder. Delete all the files in that cache folder.
