Image TV crashing NewsPublisher form after update to 2.2.9

I have updated a site from 2.2.8 to 2.2.9 and after that I have an issue on a NewsPublisher page. The editing form is completely empty except for the Abort and Save buttons. No error messages either from NewsPublisher or in the MODX error log. The other NewsPublisher pages are working. The difference is that this page contains an image TV. Removing the image TV from the form brings the form back. After poking around in the NewsPublisher class I've found the culprit to be here:

If I comment that line out everything works as expected. I'm not sure if this has any negative effects. The mediasource for the TV is the filesystem and there are access restrictions in play.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a better way to fix it?

Does the image TV still work with that line commented out?

Also want to point out.

Other site updated from 2.2.6 to 2.2.9 and other from 2.2.8. Both had Custom Mediasources with Access restrictions. Changing Mediasource or access restrictions doesn't solve the problem.

BobRay yes, TV works normally in Manager.

FWIW, this is likely being caused by the same bug that is addressed in this commit. This will be available in a 2.2.10 release shortly.
