Customizing Datagrid (cell linking, inclusion of icons)

Hi all,

How do I create links on some of the cells in the datagrid? Example, if cell 1 equals APPLE, how do i create a hyperlink on apple?

likewise, how do I add an icon within the datagrid?

I am able to do these using my PHP codes but would want to maximize existing widgets in MODX.

IMHO, most of the widgets in the current MODx are not that useful and you might be better off using a custom script for rendering your tables. This is how I’ve always done it. But you can probably create the DataGrid from an array with the actual values and markup you want in it already, rather than the raw values.

If you do want to work on the DataGrid widget to make some alterations or new features to contribute back to the project, that would be great. Nothing has been done with it moving forward and others might benefit from improvements to that widget as well.
