    hi there I have this error

    Warning:  fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to tls://smtp.gmail.com:465 (Unable to find the socket transport "tls" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?) in C:\tfv\public_html\core\model\modx\mail\phpmailer\class.smtp.php on line 122
    


    i have installed formit and quickemail but when I send the email this error message appear

    what would be the problem?

      Hi John

      Sounds like a server configuration issue?

      Somebody else had this issue (but didn't solve it unfortunately) but at least it might give you some insight at to what you have to ask your service provider https://forums.modx.com/thread/?thread=83826&page=1

          Your PHP has to be compiled with ssl - your phpinfo should have something like these...

            If you're working on Windows, you should be able to do this in your php.ini file
            extension=php_openssl.dll

              sorry for this newbie question but how do I check this stuff?

              and also i dont see this
              extension=php_openssl.dll
              in my php.ini file

                If you are working on Windows, just add the line where the other extensions are. It may or may not be there but commented out.
