    Followed the tutorial on making a modx extra, not working for me
    Used github files from doodles and modextra , not working for me

    Downloaded all files for modExtra from github

    https://github.com/splittingred/modExtra

    renam_it.ch configured like so:

    repl1=modShop
    repl2=modshop

    find1=modExtra
    find2=modextra
    path=./modExtra

    Making the tables with build.shema.php okay, making package with transport.php okay, installation okay, till now all works fine but when opening the CMP it gives a fatal error.

    Fatal error: Class 'modShopBaseManagerController' not found in /home/XXXX/domains/XXXX.nl/public_html/core/components/modshop/index.class.php on line 26

    I tried several times renaming it to other names but with no luck.

    Any body got any idea of why my new named extra cmp fails?

    Thnx!

      I don't think those examples are the best ones to follow. I might be inviting a flame war, but the way that those extras are developed is needlessly complex in my opinion. I find it *insane* to abstract abstractions within abstractions like that. I would start with a simple index.php page for your CMP controllers -- I have yet to find a need (or decent docs) for writing those manager controller functions.

          modExtra is fairly old and I don't think it's been updated in a year or two. It may well not work in 2.2.9.

          You might take a look at MyComponent, which is more up to date.

          As far as your specific issue, the message is telling you that a class with that name isn't declared in core/components/modshop/index.class.php or any of the files it includes. It may be enough just to edit that index.php file and "require" the class file in it.
