MIGXdb tutorial "Manage Child-Resources" supposed to work under 2.2.9?

Hello!
I've attempted to use the tutorial here:

but the final gridTV in my parent resource is always zero rows. Even though I can successfully create a resource having the desired template ID, it is not created as a child of the parent resource, and shows in the tree only after a browser refresh. If I then re-parent the new resource to the parent resource with the childstutorial TV, the child resource will still not show in the TV.

Is this tutorial known to still work with 2.2.9, is there is known problem, or can anyone give my ideas to try? I've got a product-heavy web site coming up so I want to take back-end management of it as simple as possible.

Oops... that's what happens when I have too many tabs open! Anyway, I just checked it out and it's definitely not working. Not only do the resources not show in the grid, they are not being created as children of the "parent" resource.

I wanted to create a extra-childresources-package but hadn't the time since,
but you can copy the childresources-processors into your installation or create a custom package-directory fill out the packagename in the configuration and put them there.
