SimpleSearch Faceted Search Through PostHooks documentation incorrect??

Trying to setup faceted search on a website I'm building. I want to filter resources and static resources (PDFs) into separate search results.

But I am struggling to understand the documentation, can someone tell me if its incorrect or still to be completed as it doesn't make since to me.
