    Greetings,

Curious if anyone had come across a plugin that "fixes" an issue I’m having with TinyMCE. When the client uploads their image in the Manager area and then places the image in the "Content" area of that document, they can obviously resize the image with the TinyMCE editor, but the file size stays the same. In other words, a 8 megabyte photo can obviously be resized to 100px by 200px but it will still output on the page as a 8 megabyte photo. This obviously effects the download time of the image on the page and was trying to figure out how to get around it so the file size would be reduced.

    Thanks!

Well, how did you do it? Did you use an existing plugin/snippet or did you find a native TMCE solution? grin grin

          Oh yeh, sorry. tongue

When you right click the image in the Content area, choose "Image Properties" from the pop up box. Then choose the browse button next to the "Image URL". Then choose the folder where the image resides. Underneath the image there is a row of 3 icons. The last one in the row is an icon with an image and a pencil over it. Choose this one. From there a new dialog box opens and you can change the image size there. Once you’re happy with the size you want the image to be, click the green arrow to confirm the change. The image has now been resized (file size, not just width and height) thus preventing unnecessary large images from being downloaded.

I did not know of that feature, I thought a snippet or plugin was needed. This is useful information I can pass on to my clients. Thanks. grin
