Hello all, I believe I created a very nasty problem with one of my website and since then logging is unbelivably slow. (5min to 15min)
I tried to override a copy of modx revo 2.2.8 but it didnt fix the problem. Also, once I am logged in everything is back to normal.

    Please help would be appreciated

Can you give us a clue about what you were working on before this happened?

This may seem odd, but try to disable the CSS and JS compression by going to the System -> System Settings then do a search for "compress". That should provide a limited result set of which the first two should be "compress_css" and "compress_js". Double left click on the value field and change to "No" if not already set to no. If this is already set to no, let me know as there are other things as well.

That was a quick fix in some hosting environments I've worked with, hope its simple in your case if not this then one of the other simple ones.

        Cheers

Another thing you could try is clearing your sessions and cookies completely or simply logging in from a completely different browser. Stale sessions can cause all kinds of nasty-looking things to pop up smiley

Hey all, Thanks for all the posts. Ok I have investigated on my side. The problem is my dashboard actually. I dont know whats causing this infinite loading however I am using googlanalytics in my dashboard.... Could it be the source of my trouble? As anybody ever got that.

tip : I tried pretty much everything mentionned above before.

Yes, Google Analytics might well be the issue.

Another thing to try is turning off the feeds. Go to System System Settings and type feed in the search box at the upper right, then press enter. Set them both to disabled and see if that makes a difference.

                Ok. Very inconsistent result here.
I removed everything on the dashboard.
                was not loading.

                I turned of the feeds
                loaded!

I tried to put back googleanalytics

                not loading.

Tried to put some stuff not related to the feed or googleanalytics.

                loading?

Tried to put back one of the feeds.

loading super duper slow . But loaded after a minute...

                any inputs?

I would like to debug this issue so I can find a solution. Is it possible to track what is going on. Is it possible that some of the external urls used in the dashboard may be conflicted by some command in my .htacces?

Try viewing the network information in developer tools or firebug. For Chrome if you hit your Ctrl+Shift+i key it will display it at the bottom of the browser window. Then select "network" from the menu (tabs if applicable). Once it is open and ready reload the page and you will start to see the resources the page is requesting and may help identify the issue.

                    Cheers

Yeah, it seems it is waiting for a response from the server that is just not coming back. And at some point I get a 504 timeout gateway.
