Using Articles to Ping to other sites

I have a client that would like his blog posts to be pinged to the following URL:
http://rpc.bloggerei.de/ping/

Does anyone have any insight how to incorporate this into the Articles Add-on?

You could modify the Pingomatix Modx (http://modx.com/extras/package/pingomatix)plugin to instead ping http://rpc.bloggerei.de/ping/

Basically you want a plugin that fires on OnDocFormRender to bring the code in or OnDocPublished to post execute the ping.
