Limit scripts, supress modal windows

    Hi Forum,
    is there any option in MODX Revolution
    a) limiting the number of scripts called simultaneously by the manager (e. g. via Ajax) and/or
    b) switching off warning modal window?

    Problem: Many of our MODX Revo installations are hosted at 1&1. There, the number of processes running simultaneously by one user is limited (10 to 15, depending on the package): http://www.1and1.com/details-performance (doesn't work anymore)

    This leads to a very ugly scenario: If you display a file system folder in the manager with many images, you only see as many thumbnails as this limitation takes effect. If the limiter kicks in, the following scripts return HTTP 500, Internal Server Error:

    Not bad enough: I recently updated one installation from 2.2.0pl to 2.2.8. In between there must have been a change, how MODX deals with HTTP-headers != 200. Now, a modal window with a warning message for every HTTP error pops up:



    Questions:
    1. Is there an option to control/limit/reduce the simultaneously called scripts by MODX Revolution? In TYPO3, there are similar problems with thumbnails in galleries. There, you could set putenv("MAGICK_THREAD_LIMIT=1"); in localconf.php to throttle the processes.
    2. Can I suppress those warning modals (as workaround)?

    My efforts: I installed the same website on different hosters without any problems. The 1&1-helpdesk told me, I could rent a server, if I'm not contented with it. LOL

    Please don't give me advices to change the provider. wink I know, that this is $%#$§, but hey, I didn't choose this ISP and 1&1 has a very good marketing, I'm unable to cope with.

      Hi, I have the same problem with this hoster. Is there any solution?
      Like Chris writes there is a solution for Typo3: You have to set putenv("MAGICK_THREAD_LIMIT=1");
      in the localconf.php. Is there something equal for MODx Revo?

        Hi Michael,
        AFAIK there's no solution so far for 1&1. I don't use MODX Revolution there anymore. I've begun to degrade projects to MODx Evo.
