I have a list of future events, some of which are held next year under a folder called "New events". It uses a template variable to store a UNIX date.

I’d like MODX to automatically move any event/article held whenever an event/article is older than today.

So, an event held on Jan 1, 2008 will be moved from the folder "new events" to the folder "previous events" automatically.

Is there a way to do this within MODX, either by snippet, or otherwise?

    Thanks.

Is it possible to automatically move articles based on date? Would you use ditto filtering techniques? Any answers on this would be welcome.

Ditto is for me the best answer, filtering with the &sortBy=`DateTV` &dateSource=`DateTV`, putting all documents in one folder, you’ll have a clean manager folder with all your articles...

I would use ditto and some filtering, this way on the previous events page there would only be the old events. This will not move a document but will filter the display of the documents.
