    Hi there.

I'm setting up another manager account for my client. Basically, I'm just setting it up so this account can only upload and download files from a specific media source. The only issue is that in order to see the filesystem the following access control must be selected or else I see a blank file list.

resource_tree - To view the resource tree in the left nav

I don't mind have the resource tree there and restrict access, I just find it a bit alarming when a user clicks a document to edit and the get an "access error" message. I would love for the left nav just have the file system. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Derrick

I think there's a setting that can show/hide the resource tree -- you could use that in conjunction with the permissions.

        Hi Everett.

Thanks for your response. The image in the post shows what happens when I hide the resource tree. For some reason it hides the container that shows the file tree - this is my issue. Any insight?

Hmmm... this is something I'd have to play around with. You can set a User setting for the user's home node (I forget the exact name), but then they will see one particular folder only, and the rest is hidden. That might be one way to do this.

That sounds like a bug (assuming that the user has the file_tree permission).

Try turning off the compress_js and compress_css System Settings. If that doesn't work, would you report it here: http://bugs.modx.com with a title like "Unable to show only the file tree"
