Does anybody know how to hide the resource tree by 'form customization'?
I want to hide the resource tree when a certain template is active.
Is this possible or does anybody has another idea how to realize this?

I'm not sure through form customisation, however you can restrict users access to the resource tree with 'access controls', and this will hide it for that user policy

Yes. That´s right, but I need it without a connection to a certain backend-user, because the same user should see the resource tree when he works on other resources ...

I'm pretty sure that Form Customization only acts on the resource editing form itself. The main menu and the Tree are not affected.
Susan is right, FC only affect the Create/Edit Resource panel.
Unfortunately, the resource_tree permission is a Context-level permission. Either the user can see the tree or not when in the Manager Context.
You can hide parts of the tree with Resource Group Access ACL entries, but again, either the user can see a Resource or not.
There might be a way to use a plugin to hide the tree when a user loads certain resources and/or to hide it with JavaScript, but it wouldn't be easy.
Hi Susan, hi Bob,
thanks for your replies. I was going to increase by this the loading-speed of manager-pages in the backend because having big menus including many webpages ...
Nevertheless, thanks a lot for your help!!
you can hide children of specific resources at all with setting hide_children_in_tree to 1
Hi Bruno,
where can I set the value to 1? In the system settings I didn´t found that key. Do I have to create the key before?

That's a setting for resources. But you don't really want to do that, since then the resource would never be seen in the tree at all!
Here's one solution
