Hi Shawn,
:) Let me explin a little better what I meant:
I included an HTML comment to see if I get the updated version and NOT some old cached output. If I was to include a MODX comment that wouldn't work would it?! My thought was this: If I include some HTML along side the changes I made to the Wayfinder call I would be sure to see that I really get the newest version of the script. So I include or etc... every time I change something that I want to test. In the outputted HTML I can then see what version of the code I am looking at. A quasi DIY-version-management for the poor so to speak
As to your questions: Yes I have emptied the cache and verified the folder actually being empty afterwards.
The HTML output is as follows:

Home

News

All

Tour

Release

Dance

Gig

Festival

Industry

Film

Arts

the Guide

Gig News

Interviews

All

Music

etc...

The snippet looks like this:
<li[[+wf.id]][[+wf.classes<a href="[[+wf.link]]" title="[[+wf.title]]" [[+wf.attributes[[+wf.linktext]][[+wf.wrapper]]

I tested this snippet too by adding a hash to its title like so:
<li[[+wf.id]][[+wf.classes<a href="[[+wf.link]]" title="#[[+wf.title]]" [[+wf.attributes[[+wf.linktext]][[+wf.wrapper]]

Which resulted in:

Home

News

All

Tour

Release

Dance

Gig

Festival

Industry

Film

Arts

the Guide

Gig News

Interviews

All

Music

Arts

Film

Industry

Reviews

Album

Comedy

etc...

That proved to me that firstly the cache is not the problem and secondly neither is the template(snippet) that is used as the very same outputs both, relative and absolute addresses.
Like I said I have removed the cache wrapper for now to find the cause of this problem.
I am using wayfinder-2.3.3-pl in MODX Revolution 2.2.8-pl (traditional).
The site is a decent size and has some legacy code sprinkled everywhere. I just recently joined the team. Everything works though...
I do really appreciate the support
