    Hi,

    I am running:
    MODX Revolution 2.2.8-pl
    PHP 5.3.3
    Apache 2.2.15

When i check the HTTP Header with google webmaster tools, I get a 500 Internal error even though the site works fine, when i crawl it again, I get a 200 OK and then later a 500 error once more.
After looking into the issue i found out that if a cache file did not exist when crawling the site, the site returns header status 500 even though the resource exists and is shown. It only returns 200 if a cache file exists.

How can i fix this issue? This is critical because google sees the page as inaccessible.

I don't have a good answer for you, but until you find one, you can run the RefreshCache extra after doing things that clear the Resource cache. It's slow and clunky, but it will ensure that there is a cache file for every resource that's cacheable.

You might also try CacheMaster. With it running, when you edit and save a resource, only the cache for resource you've just edited will be cleared rather than clearing the whole resource cache.

What happens with pages that are not set as cacheable?

BTW, doesn't Google's crawler retry when it gets a 500 error? I thought it did.
