Hello,
I’ve recently installed ModX and I really love it! I don’t think I’d need any other CMS. I could seamlessly convert an XHTML/CSS template into a ModX one for my site, including navigation and stuff, and I’ve never coded a template before. Information and tutorials about ModX on this as well as many other supporting sites are great.
I did have two questions. I’m making a site wherein there are several categories of articles. These category would show up in the menu, but their subpages won’t, as desired. Everything is ok till here, but I’d like to know if its possible to have a URL like "site.com/<category>/<article>.html (I have Friendly URLS turned on)?
Also, can I list documents under a specific category on a page with their title and short summary with pagination? I think for this, Ditto seems to be the right tool to use. But I’m wondering if it can pick up documents under a specific category (parent) I specify and only list them with pagination, along with the short summary associated with the page. Just point me to a reference I can look and start this coding.
Thanks!

As long as your category structure is reflected in the Document Tree structure, you can do what you want. Use "friendly alias paths" (in the Configuration) for the first part, and yes, Ditto will handle the second part for you. That’s how it works, you specify the "parent" document and it lists all of that document’s "children".
