    hi there!

is there some addons that might help me build backend for my site for data manipulation from custom database?

It's possible to do that, but it's usually much simpler to move the data into custom tables inside the MODX database. If you make the tables xPDO-friendly, you can use xPDO to manipulate them, which makes life much easier.

There's some information here that might help: http://bobsguides.com/custom-db-tables.html

        thanks for the reply

yeah I visit your site for some pointers about modx stuff.
I've also read that custom tables of yours it really helps me going
but know things are getting complicated.

I am making a doctors/patients directory website, and I want to build a registration for the user and also for the admin.

can you give some pointers about it?

        thanks!

There are so many ways in MODX to do what you want that it's difficult to give specific tips.

          Here are some general options:

          1. Make the patients' and doctors' regular MODX users and put the data in the user profile and extended fields.

          2. Extend the modUser object to have the extra fields you need.

          3. Create a custom table or tables in the MODX DB containing the extra doctor/patient data. Each record would have a user ID that would match the the ID of the user in the MODX user's table.

          4. Buy an existing doctor/patient software product and do things outside of MODX.
