template problems with ie6

    hi i wondered if anyone could help. my template is not viewing correctly in explorer 6. it looks great in firefox and explorer 7, and no opera users have complained etc but still got that one to check. it also validates and passes the xhtml/css validator things.

            Hi

            Although i’m not a moderator, i’d like to point out that posting your whole source-code is not a good idea. It is annoying for people to scroll down through endless lines of code.. and i’m sure nobody will be able to spot an error just by reading your source.

            If i look at the site in IE6 it seems that the floating columns #middle #left #right don’t appear next to each other. My guess is, that you have a left-margin (or padding) together with a float:left property. IE6 wrongly doubles the margin in that case... a simple fix is to add display:inline to these elements.

            And for the next time you could simply install IE6 and test it for yourself? http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE

              hi i’m really sorry, i didn’t realise posting the code wasn’t the done thing. i’m sorry and will use pastebin in future. thanks so much for your help, i’ll try look into the tips you’ve said about putting inline - i’m still pretty new to this...

                hi i tried adding display:inline; to my left-inner, right-inner and middle-inner and that made one row appear almost correct but still not the far right which was underneath.

                i had it like this:

                display:inline;

                display:inline;

                }

                so i removed and tried applying it to just left, right and middle, not the inner ones but that made a mess also... am i doing this wrong? also is this a similar issue: http://csscreator.com/node/26880

                  As far as i know, the double margin bug only occurs with a float and a margin in the same direction.
                  Eg. float:left paired with a left margin
                  Since you don’t have a float on your inner elements, this does not seem to be the troublemaker. Maybe try applying the display:inline to the floating elements?

                    some guys in the dreamweaver forum have helped me a bit, they say it’s down the the mac hack i’ve got in there, i’ve changed my css to what they said and now the page layout looks right, but text is missing...
