I wonder if there is a simple way to find elements (especially snippets) in manager simular to the resource search function?
In large sites with many categories it is sometimes difficult to find the reason of an error if you only know the element id.

No. However, 2.3 will have a great resource/element search feature.
What I do is open the whole element tree, or at least the section I'm looking in, then use my browser's search function.
