    what should i use when it comes with searching data in a custom package?

    is it ADVSEARCH? SIMPLE SEARCH?

      Supposedly AdvSearch can use query hooks for this, but I've never been able to figure out exactly how to do it from the documentation.

        yeah your right
        when I try those tuts regarding Advsearch it just gave me no result at all and no errors to look for

        I also try Simple search but no luck either
