Gallery Extra - saving new images to the top of the list instead of the butt end

Hi guys and gals,

I just got a request from my client regarding the order that the Gallery Extra lists the images in the MODX Manager. The client would like to be that when he uploads images to a gallery, that the new images automatically appear at the top of the list (page 1) instead of at the bottom of the list.

I looked in the settings and found no way to influence the listing through the manager. I may start to dig into the code, but I as I never like to hack extras, was wondering if anyone has had any experience here.

Can the client wait a little bit? Because soon, Modmore will be releasing a super snazzy Gallery where images can be sorted with drag n drop. It's incredibly easy to implement and template as well. I was lucky enough to get a peek yesterday, and I'm very impressed. Heck, you could try to get into the beta group even as the invites haven't yet gone out that I am aware of. It's a paid beta, but the price is reasonable even without the beta discount.

Well, I talked to Modmore and that functionality won't be coming. It turns out that saving the images at the top of the order causes some major performance issues. I got into the beta group thanks for the tip! I need to check it out though still. Mark, Christian and JP are doing some great work there!
