Odd resource behavior in Manager with same menu index

I ran across an odd issue today.

I have these resources in my resource tree:

Home (container)
VIB (container)
Contact Us (container)
Business Listings (Articles)
Weekly Deals (Articles)

I created them in this order.

I did not set the menu index when I created the resources. I have not done anything with ACL, groups, anything related to security or access.

Today when I logged in to my manager, the Contact Us container was not showing in my resource tree. I did a search for 'Contact Us' in the resource tree and it showed up just fine. I did a refresh of my tree after my search and it disappears again. This whole time, the resource is showing just fine on the front end.

I am not sure how I ended up looking at the Menu Index, but I noticed the Contact Us and another resource was set to 0. I went ahead and set unique menu index numbers for each resource (10, 20, 30, 40, 50). Everything seems ok now.

Has anyone else run into this?

I am running MODx Revo 2.2.8. This site was upgraded from 2.2.7 just after the release of 2.2.8.

I have not installed or upgraded any addons for some time.

Interesting. The Menu indexes are reset when you drag a resource to another spot in the tree, though that shouldn't cause duplicate ones. It's possible that just dragging a resource could have solved the problem.

Were the two resources in the same folder? Duplicate menu index numbers might be normal if the docs are in different folders.

Here is what my tree looks like:

|_ Home (Menu Index = 10)
|_ VIB (Menu Index = 20)
|_ Contact Us (Menu Index = 30)
|_ Business Listings (Menu Index = 40)
|_ Weekly Deals (Menu Index = 50)

Everyones parent is web. I think it was Home and Contact Us that had a menu index of 0 when I went through and set them to what they are now.

I usually set my Menu Index values as I did above (usually increments of 10 to allow for plenty of room for new resources) every time I add a new resource just to make sure everythig is where I want it and such. In just the last few projects I have just drug the resources where I want them and have had no issues.

Here are all of my addons that I have installed which I should have included in my original post(soory about that):

getResources - 1.6.0
Articles - 1.6.5
archivist - 1.2.4
codemirror - 2.2.0
formit - 2.2.0
getpage - 1.2.3
quip - 2.3.2
taglister - 1.1.7
TinyMCE - 4.3.3

Articles and quip are the only things showing up with an update button right now.

In the future, I know to just do a search and check the Menu Index if a resource is not showing in the manager. I was not panicing to much as the resource was showing up ok in the front end. It was just being fussy in the manager. This was a relatively easy fix. I just wanted to at least have this out there in case anyone sees this oddity as well.

I have tried replicating this issue by setting two resources to the same menu index with no luck. Everything is still showing in my manager. I will try to replicate my exact steps in my next install and see what happens. If I see it again, I will make sure to update this post with the exact steps on install, addon install order, etc.
