Custom TV Type?

Hi everyone
I'm trying to create my first custom TV type (I'm using Modx Revo 2.2.8).
I found this nice tutorial: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Adding+a+Custom+TV+Type+-+MODX+2.2
Unfortunately, I can't get it to work. I followed the steps of the tutorial but at the end I can't find my custom tv in the template variable's "Input Type List"?
Did I forget something?

did you check the system-events for your plugin?

Thank you all for your answers. I just would like to learn how to develop a custom TV No need for Migx.
I can't find any system events for my plugin. I followed all the steps in the tutorial:
1. I created a namespace
2. I created a plugin
3. I created an input controller, an output Controller and a template for the input Controller
Now it should be listed in the "Input TV Type" list?
Is there an other way to create a custom TV?

when your go to edit your plugin, there is a tab 'system-events'
you need to check all system-events the plugin uses.

this are:
OnTVInputRenderList,OnTVOutputRenderList,OnTVInputPropertiesList,OnTVOutputRenderPropertiesList
