I thought I'd mention StageCoach, which might work for some of the use cases. It allows you to create a draft version of an existing resources with a future date for having the draft replace the public version.
Is there any progress on Revise (maybe planned)?
How do I install the current development state in order to test the Component?
I did manage to build it from the github code, and it seems to suit my purposes.
