    Hi,

my name is Michael. I'm new in the forum. I have install MODx Revo 2.2.8. At first it works fine. But sometimes a error comes up, if I want to integrate a picture in my ressource. The window pops up, but no pictures to see. Only question marks, because the manager can't find them.

The error protocol of MODx doesn't show anything.

    This is the error:

    Unexpected token '<':
    Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

What do you think? Is there a solution?

    Greets
    Michael
    • Some questions.

      1. Where is the site hosted?
      2. What version of PHP is your site using?
      3. Which download did you use, Traditional or Advanced?
      4. How did you upload the files to the server? Did you upload the whole .zip file, and unzip it on the server, or did you unzip it on your local machine and upload the files via FTP?
      5. When you say you want to integrate a picture, how exactly are you doing that? Have you installed any packages with Package Manager?

        Hi,

i try to answer, my english isn't so good.

        1. 1und1.de
        2. php5.4
        3. traditional
        4. First I unzip it and upload it via ftp.
        5. Most it happens, if I integrate a picture with a imageTV. Sometimes if I integrate it with TinyMCE.
        6. Packages: Wayfinder, TinyMCE, getResource, getPage, phpThumbOf, SimpleSearch and SlideshowManager.

        Thanks,
        Michael

        • I asked these questions because this same error has been showing up a lot just in the last two or three days. It sounds to me like a file or files is getting corrupted during the upload.

I would try to do this:

          1. Save your core/configs/config.inc.php file somewhere safe.
          2. Upload the whole MODx zip file to your server. Use the server's file manager (CPanel?) to unzip it.
          3. Move the unzipped files to your existing site, using the server's file manager.
          4. Make sure the core/config/config.inc.php file is still there and hasn't been changed.
          5. Run the setup again in Upgrade mode.

See if that solves the problem.

              • Hmm. I've set up a local installation with the same extras you have, and don't have the problem. I don't know what to say now. I can only hope someone else can figure out why this is happening.

Did this just start? Did it start to happen after you installed any packages?

                  Thanks for your help!!!!

It starts yesterday (or the day before). I install the packages all together, so I don't know. The error appears only sometimes. BUT I have a second installation running. It was all fine until now. The some error appears. Is it my hoster? Maybe something has changed?

                  • That does sound likely. I wonder what hosting the other people who have posted about this same problem are using. There must be something in common here, as it's new and it's just started to happen.

Hm, in the second installation it happens so far once/one time (coincidence?). I write to my hoster and wait for an answer. If there is no solution I setup a hole new installation and will hope it works better for me.
