Hi, the title says it all, I can't seem to find how to set AdvSearch so it search trough my pdf folders.

    • AdvSearch cannot search PDF files. That takes a different server-based system to convert them to text so they can be searched.

What you can do is make static resources to link to your PDF files, then link to the static resources for downloading. Create a new content type for them, and set their content disposition to be "attachment".

You can now use the pagetitle, longtitle, description, introtext, and any TVs you care to assign to their template for searching like any other resource.

You can even put the PDF files outside of the web root, and no one can directly access them. The URLs that show will only be the URLs to the static resources themselves.

        • When you create the custom content type for them, make sure to mark them as being "binary".

          Name: PDF
          Description: PDF file downloads
          MIME type: application/pdf
          File extension: .pdf
          Binary: Check
