Hi guys 'n gals. I hope you'll forgive me for the plug, but I'd like to share the introduction of my latest MODX project with you: modmore! https://www.modmore.com/blog/2013/introducing-modmore/

It primarily focuses on premium extras (for now), but also keeps open source as close as possible. We're donating 10% of all revenue to the MODX Open Source project and we will be doing a whole bunch of development on existing (and new) open source extras and the Revo core.

The premium extras we're starting with are Redactor, which is an alternative to TinyMCE, CKEditor etc. It's a really stunning editor and I'm personally a huge fan of the drag & drop uploads.. it's just so smooth compared to the alternatives out there. We've also released SimpleAB, which is a more advanced plugin that lets you perform A/B (split) tests on MODX templates and chunks - all natively and invisible to the user. There's lots of more we're working on, which will be announced ASAP smiley

We're just getting started so there's lots of work ahead of us, but I hope that modmore will prove that premium (/commercial) extras are viable business models in MODX too. It's hard to get right and I'd love to hear everyone's feedback and if anyone has any questions, please do ask them here or via email (support at modmore.com). Email is likely faster. This is a great addition to MODX. I look forward to seeing many more offerings there. MODX really needs a way to support developers who put zillions of hours into developing professional extras and I can attest that donation-ware is not a viable business model. wink
