Can't get Comment Count to Display on Blog Index Page

Developing a site's blog using Articles.

In my blog summary chunk i have this:

<a href="[[~[[+id]]]]#post-comments"><span>[[!QuipCount? &thread=`article-b[[+articles_container]]-[[+id]]`]]</span></a>

In my blog post, which does show the correct count I have this:

<a href="[[~[[+id]]]]#post-comments"><span>[[!QuipCount? &thread=`article-b[[*parent]]-[[*id]]`]]</span></a>

I'm guessing [[+articles_container]] is not what I need?

I think instead of [[+articles_container]] you need [[+parent]].

Thanks. So it was right in front of me, the same code as in the blog post. I'm not sure where I got the other idea from.
