    Alright,

I have created a user with specific policies, etc.

When this user creates a new document, I want them to be able to have a "default" template. I know the system setting, "default_template" exists and I have applied that setting to the said user.

The user setting works and then it doesn't work. When the user top menu item "Site" to "Create a New Document" the user setting executes successfully with the proper template. When the user right clicks on a resource and chooses "Create" -> "Create a Document Here". The user setting does not apply and the default template is not what is set in the user settings for said user.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I have cleared cache, flushed all permissions, removed all locks, logged in and out, and refreshed the pages... and still nothing.

    Version: MODX Revolution 2.2.6-pl (traditional)

    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

    • Unfortunately the three ways to create a resource (top menu, "create ... here" and "quick_create" don't quite work the same way.

You might want to try http://bobsguides.com/newspublisher-tutorial.html; you should be able to use [[++default_template]] as the value for the &template property; or even set a custom user setting for it.

I would first upgrade to MODX 2.2.8. If the default_template User Setting still doesn't work, please file that as a bug at http://bugs.modx.com
