    hello,

I accidentally discovered a strange error when creating Weblinks. I will explain all the steps that lead to the error:

    - I created a new Role "test" and assigned ALL possible permissions (that means I checked all of the options available for a role). I assume that when all options are checked the role is similar to the "Administrator" role.

    - I created a new manager User and assigned the new "test" role.

    - I logged to the manager with the new created User.

    - I tried to create a new Weblink. After filling some fields, I clicked on "Save" and I got the following error:

You do not have permission to create or move a document here!
    Please choose another location

The error dissapears if the manager User has the role "Administrator".

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Mc

I would presume that you tried to create this weblink in the root of the document tree? Have you set the Allow Root setting in the Configuration’s User tab to Yes?
Do you want to allow your users to create new documents in the root of the site?
If it is set to No, the default on installation, then only true Admin users can create any documents in the root.

It’s not an obvious thing to a beginning MODx user, I can quite understand how it could be overlooked.
