Huge modx website experiencing problems

Hi all,

I have a modx revo site with 781786 resources. The resource tree doesn't load but I'm not too fussed about about, I just cant install any packages, it downloads them fine but just hangs on the install. Also i cant view any comments in quip.

The packages I've got installed are:

Ace
Batcher
Importx
Quip
Rowboat
SimpleSearch
Tinymce

I am running MODX Revolution 2.2.6-pl (traditional).
PHP version 5.4.9
Memory Limit 350mb

The link to my site is http://www.areaadvisor.co.uk. Its very slow so I'm trying to install a cache package to speed things up.

Are you really sure you need that many resources? You might be better off using MIGXdb and custom tables for some of your data.

I need that many resources as its how the website functions. Its already built so it might be a bit late for custom tables, I will use that as a last resort.

To ease the load on the Tree, you can make MIGXdb use the site_content table, but have the resources it manages be set to not show in the Tree, much like Articles does. It can manage these as a TV for their parent resources, or as a CMP.

I really would put them into custom-tables.
Should not be that difficult to move them from resources to custom-tables, if you know how.
