I am trying to set up a product based website which is not a store and I want to keep it simple to update. I have used getResources to get info from a products page like, title, thumbnail, short description to show in a list in a specific category. Some products exist in different categories and I don't want to have to create a new resource for every product if it already exists.

Is there a way to use weblinks so that getRseources doesn't look at the weblink resource for the fields, but follows through to the weblink target for the fields?

    Thanks

You could use a tagging method instead. http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/tagLister

        Thanks,

Ok I have implemented the tagging and it is indeed solving the problem I explained above except because I will not actually be placing another resource or weblink under the parent category as I had anticipated it will not appear in my wayfinder dropdown/flyout menu.

So the way I had thought it was going to work would have been

        Category A
        - Product 1
        - Product 2
        - weblink to Product 6
        Category B
        - Product 3
        - Product 4
        - Product 5
        - Product 6
        - weblink to Product 2

So as you can see this would have been fine for wayfinder to handle.

Can you think of another solution or am I still going to have to have a weblink purely for wayfinder to use.

        Cheers

Yes, if you want to use Wayfinder you'll need weblinks.

            Thanks again,

Just one more thing .. I hope smiley

I have some categories which I want to combine tags in, for instance 'category A' might have products with tags 'mice' and 'rats' I have the snippet call as follows but it is not working

            [[!getResourcesTag? &parents=`0` &tagKey=`tags` &tag=`mice,rats` &tpl=`child-listing-row` &includeTVs=`1` &processTVs=`1`]]

Is there something different I need to do to request multiple tags on the one call, or do I have to have two separate calls?
