Hello,
I have a dropdown TV with a list of options to select, is there any way to make an additional text field so we can add an option if its missing from the list? Pretty much the idea of tagging ...
Thanks!
Aleks

Got to this problem again. Anybody had any luck creating such a setup?
Thanks,
Aleks

Why not just add it to the list in the TV? Am I not understanding? So, let’s say you have:
Red||Blue||Green in the Input Option Values, why can’t you just go back to the tv and add another option like yellow?
Red||Blue||Green||Yellow
Is that what you’re asking?
..add an option if its missing from the list? Pretty much the idea of tagging ...
Or, if you’re looking to build a list that will continually grow or change you could use therebechips’ snippet called Related it just automatically creates lists using Ditto. So, when one of your tags changed you wouldn’t have to manually do it. Hope that helps.
Yes, exactly what i need, but the issue is that my editors dont have that kind of access (to template variables), so thats why i was wondering if it can be done in a more "editor friendly" way.
i’ll look into the ’related’ snippet.
Thank you!

You could edit the db table directly via a form. It would be the modx_site_tmplvars table and the field that holds the input options is the elements field. You would need to do a query to read the existing values then add the new one.
