Is there a way to bridge a forum in to modx? I have read about the smf bridge but it’s not working and I can’t find proper instructions for the mybb bolt on. Has anyone successfully integrated a forum in to their site?
This is one of the first things I did when I installed mod-x, when I started adding content I decided not to go with a forum, but everything worked fine.
I used the SMF Connector with modx .95 release - had no issues.
well decide what forum you want to use and tell us what errors you had with it.
Good Luck!

I usually use PHPbb forums... i really don’t know what the best option is but i do like smf seeing it on this site.
I tried using the smf bridge from the resource area but i’m getting the following errors.
« MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
« PHP Parse Error »
PHP error debug
Error: require_once(inc/init.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory
Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
File: C:\xampp\htdocs\test\manager\includes\document.parser.class.inc.php(766) : eval()'d code
Line: 16
I’m using xampp locally...

Ok i tried on my hosted account and i managed to get it working somewhat........ I can see it in the content window but when i click on a forum link it loads the forum page outwith the modx area as if the forum is on it’s own. I have followed the instructions and i can’t get it to work. Also the smf module won’t connect either.
