Answered Can't save anything (saving just continues on and on)!!

    Hi All I have got a pretty serious problem which just cropped up, very suddenly.

    At this moment, when I try to save a resource, the saving never ends, and the status bar just starts over again and again. Actually I have found that it sometimes can save a little, like for instance I did save some contents to an existing resource, even though i had to refresh the page to stop the saving.

    But, I cannot change the template of a resource at all! This is a serious problem here, could someone shine some light on what to do to fix it?

      First, take a look at what the AJAX response is coming back from the server when you hit save. I use Chrome Dev Tools' Network tab to inspect the responses. Once you know what the response is (likely a web server 40x response or PHP error occuring), we can figure out how to address it.

        I had something similar to this happen to me. Although it's a longshot, try doing the following:

        1) Clear your cache.
        2) If you are running DNS on your server (like I am) then restart your DNS (BIND)
        3) I also restarted my FTP

        This fixed the issue I had but then again, your setup is probably far from mine.

          Check the MODX Error log and see if anything shows up at the times you have trouble..

            Ok got the solution, opengeek this might be a post from you but I can't find it now:

            Make sure your date.timezone setting in PHP matches that used by your MySQL
            Server configuration. If it does not, you are going to have trouble. If you
            cannot change your php.ini, you can set the date_timezone setting inside
            MODX to the proper PHP timezone string that matches the timezone being used
            by MySQL. See http://php.net/manual/en/timezones.php for valid timezones for
            PHP.

            So I set the MODx date_timezone to match the server, and that did the trick. Luckily MySQL and PHP were both matching the server already.

              Just an update, this problem is mostly fixed but not 100%, it seems I still sometimes have the problem in Opera, but not in Firefox. In Opera it has happened several more times, and never when I first log in but always after doing some work.

              Hope this won't happen in Firefox too, that would be a real problem.
