    Using Bob Ray's captcha plugin for Revo and attempting to change the text prompts on the Manager login page. Edited the core/components/captcha/lexicon/en/default.inc.php lexicon file but the text displayed doesn't change.

    Any help welcome. Thanks!

      Did you clear the site cache?

      Actually, the place to change them is in System->Lexicon Management (in the captcha namespace). That way, they'll survive upgrades.

      You'll have to clear the site cache to see the changes (and sometimes, you have to manually delete the files in the core/cache directory).

        Thanks for your help Bob. Seems I'm discovering more about Revo every day. Might be useful to others new to Revo to mention 'Lexicon Management' in the Captcha notes?

        So, I cleared the cache, logged out and now a 'HTTP 500' is returned when attempting to access manager. Is there a way to disable Captcha without access to manager? Renaming a php file perhaps?

        PS Wondering if the MODx forum is due for an upgrade? Noticed that searching on 'captcha' doesn't return any results, and 'Captcha' returns many results but haven't noticed a way to sort them (by date, for example). Thanks again!

          The best way in if Captcha isn't working is to edit this file:

          core/cache/system_settings/config.cache.php

          Change this line:

          'captcha.enabled' => '1',

          to this:

          'captcha.enabled' => '',

          Important: This change is temporary, but it will get you into the Manager. As soon as you're in, go to System -> System Settings and change the captcha.enabled setting to make the change permanent.

            Thanks Bob! Fully working now.
