Hey all,
I have a members area set up. If someone not logged in goes to the members page it simply takes them to the error 404 equivalent - page not found - with the same URL as the members page.
Would be much better if they were shunted to a "You need to register" page. Pointers on how I do that please.

You can edit the unauthorized_page system setting, and send those users to a different page.
Actually, they're sent to page set in the error_page System Setting, not the unauthorized page, but the concept is good.
You *can* have them sent to the unauthorized page if you give load permission to the (anonymous) user group for any protected resources (I think in some versions, they need Load, List, and View). If you don't do that, pages they are not permitted to see essentially don't exist and they get sent to the page-not-found (error_page).
