    Hi all,

Am having to deal with Blackberry issues for a Thai site. In the UK my customers never mention Blackberrys but in Thailand they are in popular use (apparently). So I have decided to use a device detection to deliver a different layout (or even content if required) as normal responsive type css and media queries are not working. Even Jquery does not support Blackberry which was news to me :-(

How would I go about changing the template used depending on the results of the php detection script? Or should I create all the site content in chunks and use a single snippet call in each page, to deliver the content. Chunks in this case I suppose being almost entire pages with almost blank template files?

There must be a better way of doing it. It might be the case that to achieve this I have to build the site in pure php.

Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions about how I could best achieve this,

    Thank you in advance,

    Paul.

Look a the Mobile Detection Extra

Some additional documentation here, at the bottom it speaks of specific mobile detection parameters. That might be just what you need to target Blackberry specifically.

        Wow, that looks perfect!

"Blackberry - Set to true to treat Blackberry like a mobile, false to treat it like full browser or set a URL (including http://) to redirect Blackberry users to."

Had just been reading about http://blog.mobileesp.com/ and the way it does it, however the details within the documentation here seems perfect - I can really target the individual groups that are causing problems.

Thank you very much! I will explore this in much greater detail in the morning and give it a go.

I will go to sleep tonight a lot more easily smiley

        Thank you again,

        Best wishes,

        Paul.
