Can't initialize manager for build script

The following test script does not work:

include('_build/build.config.php');
require_once MODX_CORE_PATH . 'model/modx/modx.class.php';

$modx= new modX();
$modx->initialize('web');

It only shows:

Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to xPDOObject::load() must be an instance of xPDO, instance of modX given in /var/www/html/projects/modx/core/xpdo/om/xpdoobject.class.php on line 404

There seems to be a problem with the initialization of the context. Is this a bug?

I am running 2.2.7 on PHP 5.4.

Can't anybody help? I want to develop an extra and really contribute. Please, can anybody check whether it is possible in your installation to instantiate the manager from outside MODX?

Add a call to session_write_close() at the end of your script or the session handler in modX has trouble in some environments with the database session handler being called during shutdown...

Also, I recommend running build scripts from CLI.

Hey opengeek,

thanks for your reply. I'll try and see whether this helps with my issue. However, I openened a ticket http://tracker.modx.com/issues/9929 because I also see this in other installations of MODX when doing stuff in the manager.

Alight, session_write_close() did it, so thanks very much! Is this desired behaviour, means: Should I close the issue in the bug tracker? [ed. note: chrisissorry last edited this post 13 years, 4 months ago.]
