Need a front end login area on existing evo install

Hi all

So we inherited a bunch of MODx sites from a company who were no longer operating. All of these were revo sites with the exception of one.

We dont use modx, we have our own in house system, and really just took them on to host and help some people out, but one of the clients has asked for some further development. They want a front end login for their staff, so multiple user login, no signup required, and all users would see the same content.

Not hard, doing it from scratch I could have something up and working in a few hours. Also seen something similar on one of the revo sites we inherited.

Now afaik upgrading from evo to revo isnt advised, and I couldn't find any kind of add on to do what we need for evo.

Any advice anyone can give, or potentially any devs PM me some prices and we may outsource. As we usually deal in more bespoke / larger builds, and not sure we have time to take this one.

What you're looking for is WebLogin - it should be installed by default - or WebLoginPE. In evo there is a distinct separation between manager and front end users - you may have to link the manager users to a frontend login too, but it's been a while since I did anything in Evo...

If you need front-end support for Manager users, there is an Evo add-on for logging Manager users into the front-end http://modx.com/extras/package/managerlogin. It's often used in conjunction with QuickEdit+ and ManagerManager, both included with the default Evo installation, to make customized editing features from the front-end.

Be aware that there are active security vulnerabilities in previous versions of Evo; you might want to upgrade that Evo site.
