So I posted a response to a comment on one of my sites and now my comments don't display on this thread.
I checked my error log and this is what it says:

Anyone have ideas?

I solved this with Mark Hamstras help (guys a genius) the problem was quip was processing an output modifier in my comment and it broke so I'm going to file this as a quip bug.
