I know there was a plugin called MODcast that I believe was for evolution. Does anyone have any solutions/ideas for implementing a way to handle generating a podcast feed of MP3s?

Hello,
What version of MODX do you need a solution? You should be able to generate the feed using ditto/getResources for example.
I suppose I could just try to have it fill in things and generate an rss feed using that. I am running the latest version of MODx Revolution. I think one thing the plugin did was read the mp3 tags and fill in things via that, which is a nice touch, but probably requires way too much hackery/libraries. I'm still learning the modx way of doing things, I come from mostly using textpattern and wordpress (though never liked having to hack the loop).

There are countless ways to do anything with MODX, for example a better method might be to use
http://www.bdcreative-design.com/blog/creating-a-cmp-in-modx-using-migxdb/ if you just want a running feed, and don't need a corisponding page for each post.
Down the road a better management solution might be released, should there be demand for one. I hope this helps some.
