    Dear all,

As an amateur, I supported my son with a website (http://www.janwillemtroost.nl), based on Evolution 1.0.4 (2010). In 20102 he and I discussed some needs for new functionality and some optimization.
At that moment we decided to wait with this till 2013 (the needs are important but far from urgent), since I read about MODX 3.0 in Ryans blog post (May 2012). Plans to release it in 2013.

But: that was the last a read about MODX 3.0, and now - I seem to have some time to work on this website - I see developments in both Revolution and Evolution, but I failed to find some news about MODX 3.0.

Did I miss something or is this development stopped?

Hope to hear from one of you...

    Best regards,
    Hans Troost

MODX 3 is in development and being worked on as we speak but I have no idea when it is going to be released.

If you have time to spend developing the site further I would recommend using the latest Revo version as im sure you will be able to upgrade to MODX 3 when it's released ( Sure I've read somewhere that we will be able to )

        Thanks Paul,

Knowing this I'll watch the MODX 3 development and in the mean time I will continue with Evo (with which the site is developed).
Migration to REVO now is not wise I think; I assume there will be a migration path from EVO to MODX 3 als well.

        Regards, Hans

I wouldn't count on that as migrating from Evo to Revo now is not that great since most packages are not compatible with Revo.

I suggest you either try to migrate to Revo now and deal with fixing all the issues that may arise now than trying to figure it all out when 3.0 is released since most extras would probably be compatible with 3.0
