    Hi there

I've just locally installed MODx 2.2.7. While checking out the Manager's customization capabilities I noticed that my custom CSS rules are ignored. For example, I copied login.css from templates/default/css to templates/theme1/css, made a change to a input field rule and modified the corresponding system setting accordingly. However, the browser still shows the default css which is also confirmed by Firebug. Interestingly, there are no problems when I modify any template file. So I really wonder what the problem here could be...

Thx for tip. I cleared the cache/cookies and also tried it in another browser. But unfortunately that didn't help :/

What about clearing the cache in MODX? That usually does it for me.

Nope. that neither helped. I've also installed MODx on my VPS (Debian Squeeze). But there is the same problem on this box. So I wonder if I'm really the only one that has this problem.. Can anyone else confirm or not confirm this issue?

Ok, now I think I know what the problem is: The CSS files are specified in the template files. And as I didn't change any template file, Modx used the CSS files in the default theme directory. That makes actually sense. However, that also means that there is an error in the corresponding man page. It should state that the override mechanism doesn't apply to CSS files:

The way this is set up is just like extending a PHP class: you can override any single template file by mimicking the directory structure and updating the manager_theme directory.

Yeah, I'm just getting into this as well and noticed the same thing. It would be great if it worked as advertised.

What would also be helpful is a description of where the TPLs are being used.
