too many connections to register.php causing webhost to block IP

Recently my webhost (siteground) started blocking my IP address just from using the manager. When contacting their support they say that there were too many connections made from that IP to the file
www.example.com/connectors/system/registry/register.php

And that triggered the security monitor to block my IP.

It happens on every browser or OS that I use - usually when saving a document I edit but sometimes also just from browsing the file manager.

Using Revolution 2.2.7

Any ideas would be much appreciated as this is really giving me headache.

What exactly are they calling too many?

I checked the stats for a site I've been working in a lot recently, and since the beginning of the month (May 2013), I've logged 1,181 connections to register.php. Today is the 13th.

It seems to me that if this is a new occurrence, that they have made recent changes that are restricting the normal requests from MODX. Either they should make an exemption for you, or you'll have to move hosts. SkyToaster does a darn fine job of allowing you all the register.php requests you desire :~}

They've moved me to another server that doesn't have that restriction so hopefully it works ok now. Their restriction was no more than 10 simultaneous connections per second.

I just hope it's not something with my installation that's causing it. I'm having another strange issue I'll post in a separate thread once I deal with this one.

That other server also pulls the same stunt. I have no idea if this is something with Siteground's servers or with my modx installation. I can't use the site at all like this. It's becoming quite a nightmare.
